When Saint Patrick first came to Ireland he was brought over as a slave from Wales. While there, Saint Patrick had visions from angels and was told to go to Europe for training. He was to be instructed and ordained in the religion of Christianity with One God at its core and he had many spiritual revelations about this. He wanted to share this knowledge, his understanding, with the people of Ireland whom he had come to love, as he kept dreaming about the children calling to him to come and save them. He went back to Ireland as a free man, a man of God, for the purpose of sharing with the Irish people Christianity and what had been revealed to him.
